District Employees Engage Students at Trinidad Water Festival

TRINIDAD, COLO. – Over 1,500 children from kindergarten to 12th grade attended the Trinidad Water Festival, May 18, 2017. Three District employees from the Trinidad Dam project office presented to more than 200 participating students during the festival.

TRINIDAD, COLO. – Albuquerque District staff from the Trinidad Dam project office participated in the 6th Annual Trinidad Water Festival, May 18, 2017.

Over 1,500 children from kindergarten to 12th grade in Las Animas County, Colorado, attended the festival held at Trinidad State Junior College.

District employees Bernadine Cisneros, Robin Henry, and Jesse Gutierrez presented information about the Corps of Engineers and water safety to more than 200 students of various age groups throughout the day. Gutierrez constructed a model dam that the students viewed as part of the presentation.

District employees have participated in all of the previous water festivals.

"It was great to watch the kids have so much fun," said Cisneros.
