Conchas Lake is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers managed lake; however many of the campgrounds and most recreation areas are managed by New Mexico State Parks. If you have any questions about closures due to water levels, please call us at 575.868.2221
All America the Beautiful Pass discounts are honored at the Corps-managed recreation areas at this project. This includes the south side campground and ramp. N.M. State Parks-managed recreation areas will only recognize the Every Kid in a Park pass.
Conchas Lake provides excellent fishing. The lake is stocked with bluegill, channel catfish, crappie, large mouth bass, and walleye and is open all year to fishing.
The Conchas project office offers a free group shelter in the Day Use Area that includes the following: picnic tables, BBQ, two horseshoe pits, six-hole disc-golf course and a volleyball court.

Geocaching is permitted on Corps lands only with express knowledge and approval of the project manager. Contact Conchas Lake for details.
