Cochiti Lake, N.M. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque District, announced today that the swim beach at Cochiti Lake is open again after being closed due to a higher than normal spring runoff. The swim beach is scheduled to be open daily from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.

As part of the reopening, the vault toilets by the swim beach are also available for use. USACE staff works to keep the swim beach area clear of debris. Boaters and visitors in other areas of the lake should take extra precautions, as there may still be woody debris in the water. The approximate water temperature is 68F.

To prevent drowning, life jackets should be worn while recreating on and near the water.

Alcohol is not allowed at Cochiti Lake.
