  • Midwinter Bald Eagle Watch at Abiquiu Lake, N.M.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Abiquiu Lake will be hosting its annual Midwinter Eagle Watch on Saturday January 4, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Volunteers will be meeting at the Abiquiu Lake project office, and the event is open to the public.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announces closure of all Regulatory Offices due to federal government shutdown

    EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY: All Corps of Engineers Albuquerque District Regulatory offices are closed due to the lapse in government funding. During this time, we are unable to evaluate individual permit applications, pre-construction notifications (PCNs) for nationwide permit (NWP) or regional general permit authorizations, or requests for jurisdictional determinations. Work on these actions will proceed when the government reopens. If you have an emergency that requires action in potential jurisdictional Waters of the United States in order to ensure protection of public health or safety, please call (505) 342-3686.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Issues Emergency Flooding Permit Public Notice

    In an effort to assist New Mexicans who have been adversely affected by the recent floods, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque District, has issued an emergency permit which can be used to authorize emergency post-flooding projects in New Mexico under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act.
  • East end of Trinidad Lake reopened to boating

    The boat ramp and the east end of Trinidad Lake are reopened to boating. The west end of the lake is still closed to boating for wildfire aircraft access. The off-limits portion of the lake is clearly marked with buoys and an island.
  • Trinidad Lake Closed to Boating

    Trinidad Lake in Trinidad Lake State Park is closed to boating until further notice. All other park activities, including fishing, camping and hiking, are still permitted. Wildfire aircraft will be dipping the lake for water to combat the Pipeline Fire on Fisher's Peak near Trinidad.

    The Albuquerque District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, announced today that the Southside boat ramp and day-use recreation area are now open for public use at Conchas Lake, N.M.

    Drowning is a leading cause of accidental death, yet the number of deaths by drowning could be reduced drastically if everyone would wear a life jacket. Statistics show that 89 percent of those who drown at U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lakes and rivers may have survived if they had worn a life jacket.

  • Rio Grande Nature Center Interpretive Display Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque District, and partners of the Middle Rio Grande Endangered Species Collaborative Program, will hold a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony celebrating the completion of an Interpretive Display on May 22, 2013, from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. at the Rio Grande Nature Center.
  • ALBUQUERQUE DISTRICT U.S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS PARTICIPATES IN ACTIVE SHOOTER AWARENESS TRAINING

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ district office, in partnership with the Albuquerque Police Department and other federal law enforcement agencies, will conduct an Active Shooter Awareness Training April 24, 2013. The purpose of this exercise is to train district employees how to safely and quickly respond in an active shooter situation at any public or private gathering.
