ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., -- Phase 2C of the Southwest Valley Flood Reduction Project was awarded July 15, 2014. The cost of construction for this Phase is approximately $4,000,000.
The Southwest Valley Flood Reduction Project consists of reconstruction and widening of the Isleta, Armijo, and Los Padillas Drains for the purpose of flood reduction in the southwest valley of Bernalillo County, and new channel construction to connect these drains for discharge to the Rio Grande through the Durand Open Space. These new channels have been completed.
Phase 2C of this project includes constructing a haul route which will run along the Arenal Ditch, between Don Andres Road and Arenal Road, and adjacent to Rio Grande High School, and construction of pond 187 south of Don Andres road. Construction of Phase 2C is scheduled to be completed by November 30, 2014.
