Gabion check structures
As Climate Changes, Santa Clara Strives To Become Resilient To Worsening Fires, Floods: Two gabion check structures are being built upstream of the village of Santa Clara Pueblo in the lower Santa Clara Canyon. The rock-filled basket structures, designed to slow flood flows and catch debris and sediment, range between 350 feet and 450 feet in length and are less than 25 feet above grade.
