  • Cochiti swim beach to reopen for Memorial Day weekend

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque District, announced today that the swim beach at the lake will reopen for Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 25 to Monday, May 27, 2019, from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm. The swim beach will then be closed Tuesday, May 28, 2019.
  • Day-use recreation areas at Cochiti Lake closed due to high water

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque District, announced today that some of the day-use areas at the lake – including the Cochiti swim beach – are closed due to high water levels.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has announced that it will waive day use fees, normally charged at boat launch ramps, and swimming beaches, at its recreation areas, nationwide, in recognition of National Public Lands Day on Saturday, Sept. 22. The Albuquerque District has also announced events open to the public that will be held at four of its New Mexico lakes on National Public Lands Day.

    The Cochiti Lake Project is announcing the annual seasonal closure of the Cochiti Project Campground, effective Nov. 1, 2015. The entire Cochiti Campground will be closed to all overnight camping and day use activities from Nov. 1, 2015 through Feb. 28, 2016.
  • Army Corps of Engineers supports new “Every Kid in a Park” recreation initiative

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers joined the Federal Interagency Council on Outdoor Recreation for the start of a new initiative to give every child in the United States the chance to explore and learn about America’s great outdoors. The Every Kid in a Park initiative will provide all fourth grade students and their families with free admission for a full year to more than 2,000 federally-managed sites nationwide.
