USACE-Albuquerque District will close the gate at Diamond A Dam at Two Rivers Reservoir after flood watch issued for Chaves County

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. –  The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-Albuquerque District announced today that it will close the gate at Diamond A Dam at Two Rivers Reservoir after a flood watch was issued for Chaves County, N.M.

The Mayor of Roswell and the Superintendent of the Chaves County Flood Commission requested the Corps close today due to remaining damage from the previous event. The Corps will continue to monitor the situation and communicate with Chaves County and the City of Roswell.

Roswell experienced heavy rains and flooding about two weeks ago on the evening of October 19 and morning of October 20. The Corps remains in communication with the Chaves County Flood Commission through the event and impounded up to 3,435 acre-feet of water.
