    Active Vehicle Barriers installed at Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico can prevent passage of vehicles when engaged. The Air Force is using a Huntsville Center’s Access Control Point (ACP) multiple award task order contract (MATOC) to ensure barrier preventative and corrective maintenance and emergency repairs are preformed by contractors, freeing up personnel from the base's civil engineer and security forces Airmen to focus on higher priority tasks more associated with their career fields.

    Work Begins on New Medical Clinic at Holloman Air Force Base

    District Commander Lt. Col. Patrick Dagon joined the 49th Medical Group, the 49th Medical Support Squadron, and others to celebrate the start of construction on a new medical clinic at Holloman AFB, July 1, 2015, with a groundbreaking ceremony.

    Pumps pull water to help lower Bonito Lake.

    Flood Fighting: District Assists Effort to Lower Bonito Lake

    The June 2012 Little Bear Fire burned 44,330 acres of private and Lincoln National Forest land in southern New Mexico, the majority in a wedge of prime timberland surrounding Bonito Creek. Beautiful, clear Bonito Lake, water supply for the City of Alamogordo and for Holloman Air Force Base, was overrun by the flames, which also burned 242 homes and 12 additional structures on the checkerboard lands adjacent to the lake.
  • The nearly 20,000 square foot building has 10 equipment bays, fireman living quarters, crew chief living area, a fully equipped kitchen, a weight room with sauna and a parking lot with spaces for low-emission vehicles and bicycles.

    West Ramp Areas of Base Protected From New Station

    Fire fighters at Holloman Air Force Base, six miles west of Alamogordo, N.M., are settling into a new crash and fire rescue station recently constructed through a contract between the Corps and Anthony & Gordon Construction Co, Inc.
