    Area students get hands on experience in STEM education at Science Olympiad

    District employee Reg Bourgeois took part in the the 2017 Central New Mexico Science Olympiad at the University of New Mexico, Jan. 28, 2017, judging the Wright Stuff event. Area students took part in several events in STEM disciplines and the top teams will go on to the next level - the N.M. Science Olympiad.
  • Students Study STEM through Interactive Presentations

    Seventy students from two area schools gathered at the District’s main office to learn more about the importance of STEM and some of the various ways these subjects are essential in what the Corps of Engineers does on a daily basis.

    District Offers First STEM Internship

    This summer the District collaborated with the University of New Mexico to launch the District’s first eight-week STEM internship. Civil engineering student Corey Bowen started the internship May 28 and spent her time helping on several on-going design projects.

    Albuquerque District Takes Giant Leap into STEM Initiative

    A formal ceremony was held at the University of New Mexico where the District entered into a Memorandum of Agreement with the University of New Mexico. Col. Nelson, Deputy Commander, South Pacific Division, participated in the ceremony.
