    Tetilla Peak Campground at Cochiti Lake now open for camping reservations through Oct. 15, 2022

    The Tetilla Campground is now open to the public for the 2022 recreation season which ends October 15, 2022. Reservations can be made online at www.Recreation.gov.

    CONTRACT AWARDED, CONSTRUCTION STARTED IN GALLINAS WATERSHED

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque District, awarded a $7 million contract June 10, 2022, to implement engineering solutions to protect key water infrastructure in the Gallinas Watershed, near Las Vegas, New Mexico, in response to the recent damage caused by the local wildfires.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-Albuquerque District announced today that County Road 18.3 will be closed Monday Feb. 14 through Friday, Feb. 18, 2022, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day. County Road 18.3 is the road that goes across Trinidad Dam, in Colorado.

    John Martin Reservoir’s Midwinter Eagle Survey scheduled for Jan. 8, 2022

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers staff at John Martin Reservoir will host their annual midwinter eagle survey, Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, at the reservoir. The event will run from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and will include an informational presentation about eagles.

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers staff at Abiquiu Lake will host their annual midwinter eagle survey, Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022. The event will run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Volunteers are asked to meet at the Abiquiu Lake Visitor Center for registration beginning at 9:00 a.m. Hot coffee and snacks will be provided during registration.
