  • Special Public Notice Concerning the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer's Role in Activities Associated with Oil and Natural Gas Production and Development of Class II Injection Wells and Pipelines

    The purpose of this public notice is to advise you of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) regulatory role as it applies to activities associated with oil and natural gas production and distribution, and development of Class II injection wells. Through our regulatory authorities, the USACE is charged with protecting the nation's regulated aquatic resources while allowing reasonable and necessary development that impacts those resources to go forward. Our intent is to develop and maintain an open dialogue with those in the oil and gas industry to provide early coordination during project planning to ensure that project related impacts to regulated aquatic resources are appropriately avoided, minimized, and/or mitigated to ensure the proposals are in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • BOR, San Ildefonso Pueblo, Bank Stabilization SPA-2012-00442-ABQ

    The Albuquerque District has issued a public notice for an application for a Department of the Army permit to construct the Bureau of Reclamation's (BOR), San Ildefonso Pueblo, Rio Grande, Bendway Weir Construction, Point Bar Removal Project in Santa Fe County, NM, which would result in impacts between approximately 1.2 to 1.8 acres (maximum) or approximately 850 linear feet of waters of the United States and/or navigable waters of the United States in or adjacent to Rio Grande. In addition, approximately 0.248 acre of wetlands will be permanently impacted and 0.04 acre of wetlands will be temporarily impacted by the proposed project.

  • [FINAL] SPECIAL PUBLIC NOTICE - Regional General Permit No. 37 for Stream Stabilization in the Sacramento and Albuquerque District Areas of Colorado

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque and Sacramento Districts, hereby issue Regional General Permit (RGP) No. 37 for stream stabilization projects within the Albuquerque and Sacramento District areas of Colorado. The purpose of this public notice is to inform interested parties of the availability of the RGP. Details about the activities authorized by the RGP and how to request verification of authorization for projects under the RGP are described in the attached permit.

  • B-Ditch Vicinity of Gate 3 (SPA-2012-00098-SCO)

    Expiration date: 10/23/2012

    On March 13, 2012, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) Albuquerque District cited the Fort Carson Army Garrison for violation of Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (CWA) for the unauthorized discharge of dredged/fill material into waters of the U.S. associated with the mechanized clearing of approximately 750 linear feet (LF) of stream channel and adjacent wetlands and the construction of six grade control structures and a culverted road crossing. On August 28, 2012, Fort Carson submitted an after-the-fact permit application to the Corps for permanent stabilization of the B-Ditch channel with a series of seven grade control structures. Details of the proposed project are provided in this public notice and in the attached maps and drawings. The purpose of this public notice is to inform interested parties of the project and to solicit comments.

  • I-Ditch Vicinity of Gate 20 (SPA-2012-00097-SCO)

    Expiration date: 10/23/2012

    On March 13, 2012, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) Albuquerque District cited the Fort Carson Army Garrison for violation of Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (CWA) for the unauthorized discharge of dredged/fill material into waters of the U.S. associated with the relocation of approximately 700 linear feet (LF) of the I-Ditch stream channel. Subsequently, at the direction of the Corps, Fort Carson installed appropriate erosion control mechanisms to prevent further erosion of the I-Ditch channel. On August 28, 2012, Fort Carson submitted an after-the-fact permit application to the Corps for the realignment and permanent stabilization of the I-Ditch channel. Details of the proposed project are provided in this public notice and in the attached maps and drawings. The purpose of this public notice is to inform interested parties of the project and to solicit comments.
