General Information

While visiting Galisteo Dam, we ask that you observe federal, state and Corps of Engineers regulations that govern the use of this park. For everyone's enjoyment and safety, please note the following:

General Public Use

  • Galisteo Dam is open year round, but is subjuct to closure. Reservoir Basin is closed to public access.
  • Drive and park vehicles only on developed roads and parking areas.
  • Pets are welcome, but must be physically restrained by a leash 6 feet or shorter at all times.
  • Fires should be confined to grills or established pits only. Thoroughly extinguish fires prior to departure. Fire restrictions may apply.
  • Do not litter. Use designated trash bins.
  • Destruction, injury, defacement, or removal of public property, including vegetation, natural and cultural resources is prohibited.
  • The spilling, pumping, or discharge of contaminants, pollutants or wastes, including human or animal waste, petroleum, industrial and commercial products on project lands or waters is prohibited.
