    District waives fees, holds events in observance of National Public Lands Day

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced that it will waive day use fees normally charged at boat launch ramps and swimming beaches at its recreation areas nationwide in recognition of National Public Lands Day on Sept. 26. The Albuquerque District also announced that there will be National Public Lands Day events at Abiquiu, Cochiti and Santa Rosa lakes in N.M. and at John Martin Reservoir in Colo.

    Santa Rosa Students Ready for the Water

    Bob Mumford, a park ranger at the District’s Santa Rosa Dam, wrote and received a grant from ENMR, a local phone cooperative, to purchase and distribute lifejackets and Whistles for Life to all the students at the elementary school.
