ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The District recognized Ericka Zabala as the District’s 2016 Administrative Professional of the Year, April 26, 2016.
District Workforce Management Administrator Jeannette Alderete said, “This year’s recipient’s outstanding performance, aptitude, and team oriented service is displayed on a daily basis at the Abiquiu Lake Project. The nominations received for her spoke very highly of her professionalism.”
Zabala started her career with the District at the Abiquiu Lake project office in June 2014 as a Pathways student and is currently a student project assistant. She is slated to graduate from Northern New Mexico College in May with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
In her nomination application, Zabala’s supervisor, John Mueller, writes that she “has exceeded expectations by learning the often complex job as the Project Assistant at a high technical proficiency.” He adds that she “treats her colleagues and the public with respect and shows a high degree of self-respect in the pride she takes in her work. She has demonstrated selfless service by consistently placing the public and the projects needs before her own. She has shown integrity by building trust with her team members by following through with what she says she will do and striving to do what is right.”
