ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Approximately 25 retired district employees attended the annual retiree luncheon, Nov. 9, 2018, at Furr’s cafeteria on San Mateo.

During lunch, the attendees mingled with each other, catching up on each others’ lives in retirement.

This was the first luncheon for several attendees, as they are recent retirees. Lt. Col. Larry Caswell, Jr., district commander, used the time to meet and visit with many of the retirees. After the meal, Caswell spoke for a few minutes, discussing current and upcoming projects in the District, and what he expects, workload-related, over the next couple of years. He also touted the rehired annuitant program, whereby retired employees can come back to work for the District short-term. The luncheon was a great success. Everyone is looking forward to the next one, planned for 2019.
