  • U.S. Army Fort Wingate Depot Activity invites public comment on proposed building demolition

    The U.S. Army Fort Wingate Depot Activity (FWDA) is planning a project to investigate and remediate contamination under two existing buildings at FWDA. In accordance with 36 CFR § 800.6(a)(4), the Army is providing an opportunity for members of the public to express their views on resolving the adverse effects associated with the demolition of Buildings 005 and 006 at FWDA.

    USACE staff at Conchas Lake will host their annual midwinter eagle survey, Friday, Jan. 16, 2026. The event is free and open to the public. Those interested in participating are asked to call the Conchas Lake Project Office at 575-868-2221 to sign up.

    Cochiti Lake will host their annual midwinter eagle survey on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026. The event is free, open to the public and no pre-registration is required. Volunteers are asked to meet at the Cochiti Lake Visitor Center for registration beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Jan. 10, 2026.
  • Abiquiu Lake to host annual Midwinter Eagle Count Jan. 10, 2026

    USACE staff at Abiquiu Lake will host their annual midwinter eagle survey, Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Volunteers are asked to meet at the Abiquiu Lake Visitor Center for registration beginning at 9:00 a.m. The Abiquiu Lake Visitor Center is located on Hwy 96, just 2 miles west of the Hwy 84 junction.

  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers requests public comment for the Santa Rosa Lake Master Plan revision and Two Rivers Dam Master Plan Development

    USACE-Albuquerque District is revising the Santa Rosa Lake and Two River Dam Master Plans (MP). An MP is the strategic land use management document that guides the comprehensive management and development of all recreational, natural, and cultural resources throughout the life of the water resource development project. It defines "how" it will manage the resources for public use and resource conservation. The current MP for Santa Rosa Lake, last approved in 1977, needs revision to address changes in regional land use, population, outdoor recreation trends, and the USACE management policy.
  • Abiquiu Lake wants your Christmas tree to help create fish habitat after the holidays

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers staff at Abiquiu Lake will join the Santa Fe National Forest and the Española, N.M., American Legion, to collect live-cut Christmas trees to sink in the lake to provide fish habitat. The trees will be collected Sat. Dec. 27, 2025, through Fri. Jan. 16, 2026.
