Cochiti Lake day use recreation areas, including Swim Beach, to remain closed over Fourth of July holiday weekend due to high water levels

COCHITI LAKE, N.M. – Due to the existing high-water levels, the day use recreation areas on the

Day use recreation areas at Cochiti Lake closed due to high water levels

Due to high water levels inundating all of the day use areas on the Cochiti side of the lake, these areas have been closed until further notice. This includes the Swim Beach and the boat ramp day use area.

Access to the Rio Chama directly downstream of Abiquiu Dam, including the Rio Chama day use area, will see temporary closures beginning Jan. 13, 2020, due to construction activities related to a habitat improvement project.
