Cochiti Lake Boating Training by New Mexico State Parks

Published May 29, 2025

COCHITI LAKE, N.M. – New Mexico State Parks (NMSP) is scheduled to conduct on-the-water boat training at Cochiti Lake, June 11-13, 2025.

While much of the training involves slower maneuvers (such as docking, launching, trailer recovery, night operations, etc.), NMSP will also be conducting high speed maneuvers that will break the no-wake rule in effect at the lake. High speed training maneuvers are essential for emergency response on any lake.

NMSP has an exception to the no-wake rule for training purposes only during this timeframe and/or while responding to an on-water emergency.

Cochiti Lake remains a no-wake lake. All non-NMSP boats on Cochiti Lake during this timeframe must continue to follow the no-wake rule.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the USACE Cochiti Lake Project Office at 505-465-0307.
