Cochiti Lake temporarily closed due to unsafe ice conditions

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers staff at Cochiti Lake announced today that the lake is temporarily closed until further notice due to unsafe ice conditions.

This includes the boat ramp, fishing access, and day use facilities on the Cochiti side of the lake. The campgrounds on the Cochiti side of the lake have been closed for the season since Dec. 1, 2024. The Tetilla Peak Recreation area closed for the season Oct. 15, 2024. It will reopen April 15, 2025.

The gate to the road leading to the lake on the Cochiti side has been closed and notification has been posted on the fee machine at the kiosk where visitors pay the day use fee.
