Abiquiu Lake to host ‘Trunk or Treat’ Halloween event Oct. 30

ABIQUIU, N.M. – US Army Corps of Engineers staff at Abiquiu Lake will host a ‘Trunk or Treat’ event in the boat ramp parking area, Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

The event is free and open to the public.

In partnership with the Army Corps of Engineers, multiple local agencies including the N.M. State Police, Rio Arriba County Substance, Treatment, Outreach and Prevention Program (RACSTOP), and the Santa Fe National Forest will be in attendance. Area businesses and the general public will also participate.

The public is also invited to come and decorate their vehicle’s trunk. Set up for the event will begin at 11:30 am and all are invited to participate in decorating their trunk. The event will start for spectators will start at 12:00 pm and end at 2:00 pm. 

Bags will be provided. Please bring only pre-packaged candy to give to participants.

The Cerrito Boat Ramp at Abiquiu Lake is located at the east side of the dam 2 miles west of the Hwy 84 and Hwy 96 junction. For more information, call the Abiquiu Lake Project Office at 505-685-4371.
