End Plastic Pollution Event at Abiquiu Lake

ABIQUIU, N.M. – Join the park rangers of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Abiquiu Lake to celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 21, 2018. Stop by anytime between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. at the Abiquiu Lake Visitor Center.

Come learn about some of the negative effects plastic has on our ecosystem. You will even learn how to make your own bracelets out of plastic shopping bags. Please bring any bags you have and would like to recycle for the event. We hope to see you there!

Earth Day is an annual celebration on which events are held worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It is observed each year on April 22.

Abiquiu Lake is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ managed lake, with recreation areas and a campground. The lake is a 5,200-surface-acre reservoir and offers some of the finest fishing in northern New Mexico. Other recreational activities available include camping, hiking, picnicking, and water sports.
