Future Flows
Data from an ensemble of climate models was used to understand how monthly precipitation might change in the future, and this information was used to model potential future changes in runoff and streamflow on the Rio Grande, and to route these flows downstream to Cochiti Lake. The existing relationship between stream flow and sediment influx at the head of Cochiti Lake was then used to determine how much average sediment influx might change in response to streamflow changes in the future.
