  • SPA-2009-427-ELP; The Paseo Del Norte Drainage Improvements Project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque District, (Corps) and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality are evaluating a permit application to construct the Paseo Del Norte Drainage Improvements project, which would result in proposed impacts to approximately 2,722-linear feet (1.34-acres) of ephemeral washes, which are waters of the United States in Flow Path 38, El Paso, Texas. This notice is to inform interested parties of the proposed activity and to solicit comments. A previous Public Notice was issued for this project on January 14, 2011. That Public Notice described a project with proposed impacts to approximately 4,615-linear feet (2.23-acres) of ephemeral washes, which are waters of the United States. In accordance with § 325.2 (a)(2), Processing of applications, the District is issuing a revised Public Notice to inform the public that the Applicant, after evaluating an additional alternative, has significantly reduced proposed impacts to waters of the United Sates. This has resulted in a reduced permit area and a change in the Applicant structure. Additionally, a detailed mitigation plan has been developed by the Applicant.

  • McDonald Ditch Project (Action No. SPA-2013-00381)

    Expiration date: 8/9/2014

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque District (Corps), is evaluating a permit application from the McDonald Ditch Company to construct a new diversion dam in the Rio Grande River approximately 930 feet upstream from an existing structure. The project will result in 0.015 acre of permanent impacts and 0.023 acre of temporary impacts to scrub/shrub wetlands adjacent to the Rio Grande River. Impacts to the Rio Grande river will consist of 0.127 acre of permanent impacts and 0.24 acre of temporary impacts. In addition, approximately 380 linear feet of riprap will be placed along the bank. The existing diversion structure will be dismantled and replaced with a rock grade control structure. The purpose of this public notice is to inform interested parties of the project and to solicit comments.
