AVAILABILITY OF REVISED GUIDANCE DOCUMENT for COMPLIANCE WITH THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF NATIONWIDE PERMIT 27

SUBJECT: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque District, (Corps) is issuing a public notice regarding the availability of a revised guidance document for compliance with the terms and conditions of Nationwide Permit (NWP) 27. NWP 27 verifies activities in waters of the United States associated with the restoration, enhancement, and establishment of wetlands and riparian areas and the restoration and enhancement of streams and other open waters, provided those activities result in net increases in aquatic resource functions and services. The revised guidance document covers what specific information should be included with requests for authorizing project proposals involving a discharge of dredged or fill material under NWP 27, including the project purpose, existing conditions, reference and supporting data, and monitoring plan. It also includes a detailed discussion of requirements for annual monitoring reports, specific information concerning projects designed to enhance fisheries, and a list of resources.

It should also be noted that regional conditions may apply within Albuquerque District boundaries in Colorado, New Mexico and Texas regarding compliance with NWP 27.
