Additional UH-60 Black Hawks arrive in Jamaica
Three U.S. Army UH-60 Black Hawks assigned to the 1st Battalion, 228th Aviation Regiment, Joint Task Force-Bravo, arrive at Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, Jamaica, Nov. 2, 2025. Joint Task Force-Bravo is expanding operations with additional Black Hawk helicopters to reach affected communities and further provide foreign assistance following Hurricane Melissa, bringing critical airlift, logistics, and lifesaving capabilities in the early stages of recovery. U.S. Black Hawks arrived to Kingston, Jamaica to assist with the ongoing operations. Charges d’Affairs Scott Renner welcomed the Black Hawks with Daryl Wesley Phillip Vaz, Jamaican Minister of Science Energy, Telecommunications and Transport. Joint Task Force-Bravo airlifted 40,000lbs of food and water to St. Elizabeth Parish with the assistance of the Jamaican Defense Force.

JTF-Bravo transports USAR Team and supplies throughout Jamaica
U.S. service members from the 1st Battalion, 228th Aviation Regiment, Joint Task Force-Bravo, transported approximately 40,000 pounds of food and supplies to date using U.S. Army CH-47 Chinooks assigned to the 1-228th, in Kingston, Jamaica, Nov. 1, 2025. Additionally, JTF-Bravo moved Fairfax County, Virginia, firefighters from USA-01, Urban Search and Rescue team for their search and rescue operations to affected parts of Jamaica following Hurricane Melissa. Trump and is rapidly mobilizing to assist the people of Jamaica, Haiti, the Bahamas, and Cuba. The DART consists of disaster experts from across the Department of State, along with two urban search-and-rescue teams from the fire departments of Fairfax County, Virginia, and Los Angeles County, California. The DART is responsible for assessing the situation, identifying priority humanitarian needs, and leading the U.S. Government’s response to the disaster.
