NATO multinational battlegroup Estonia demonstrate combat readiness during Exercise Bold Eagle
Testing their readiness to defend the Alliance’s eastern flank’ , NATO’s multinational battlegroup Estonia deployed alongside NATO Allies recently, for Exercise Bold Eagle. The seven-day exercise in Estonia challenged Estonian, French, Polish, UK and US forces’ readiness to navigate the complex, boggy landscape of the northern Baltics. Heavy armour, including the British Army Challenger 2 tanks – weighing over 60 tons – navigated the landscape, honing the critical mobility skills essential to Estonia’s defence. The UK-led NATO battlegroup is one of eight based along NATO’s eastern flank, demonstrating Allies’ resolve and readiness to defend Alliance territory and populations. Footage includes shots of British Army Challenger 2 tanks, Warrior Infantry Fighting Vehicles, and Estonian and UK infantry training in trench warfare. The U.S. Navy, Royal Thai Navy and Royal Canadian Navy began the 31st exercise, Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training, Thailand 2025, also known as CARAT, with an opening ceremony in Sattahip, Thailand. U.S. Marines and sailors with Marine Rotational Force Darwin are honing their combat marksmanship skills at Robertson Barracks in Australia.

The AFWERX Refinery is a fast-paced innovation accelerator designed for Airmen and Guardians. Selected teams join a 2–6 week cohort where they receive mentorship, stakeholder connections, and a curriculum inspired by “lean startup” principles. Through expert guidance—from acquisition and sustainment advisors to policy and engineering experts—participants refine prototypes, build partnerships, and create a 6–12 month adoption plan ("flight plan"). Alumni continue to receive support post-program, ensuring hurdles are addressed during fielding. Idaho National Guard conducts 2 rescues in 9 days
Idaho Army National Guard Soldiers conducted two successful search and rescue missions just nine days apart. This video, filmed during a July 7, 2025 rescue operation, shows an HH-60M Black Hawk helicopter crew member being lowered by hoist to assist an injured hiker and her companion near Decker Peak in Idaho. After the injured hiker was assessed by an Idaho Army National Guard medic, both hikers were successfully hoisted into the helicopter and transported to the Stanley, Idaho, airstrip, where they were transferred to a ground ambulance. This rescue, conducted at 10,100 feet, marks the highest elevation hoist rescue conducted by Idaho Army National Guardsmen this year and the second highest hoist rescue in the organization’s history.
