A father and son have a lasting legacy in the form of Trinidad Dam. Louie Torres helped build the dam and now his son, Rick Torres, works at the dam.
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Command Sgt. Maj. Douglas Galick visited the district in early April 2025 to meet with staff and get an on-the-ground look at the district’s missions and functions. While visiting, he spoke with personnel at the district headquarters, Cochiti Lake Office, and White Sands Missile Range.
The Albuquerque District received the Army Safety and Occupational Health Star flag in a ceremony, April 1, 2025. The Albuquerque District is the first district in USACE’s South Pacific Division to achieve this recognition.
