ABIQUIU LAKE, N.M., -- The staff at the Albuquerque District’s Abiquiu Lake Project Office have partnered with the Española Wildlife Center to teach middle-school students in the area about natural resources. There is a class every week, with every other week’s class held at the project. The students have released a red tail hawk; done a macro-invertebrate survey; mapped the river bottom; learned about geology and watersheds, native vegetation and wildlife; and many other hands-on activities.
