Behind the camera - Words from the photographer, Richard Banker: "I took this picture in 2009 while hiking on one of the lava field trails in El Malpais. A thunder storm was approaching so I was hurrying to get back to the truck when the sun broke through the clouds briefly lighting a portion of the landscape."
