  • PUBLIC NOTICE FOR FINAL REGIONAL CONDITIONS ON THE 2017 NATIONWIDE PERMITS IN NAVAJO NATION

    On January 6, 2017, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) published the notice in the Federal Register announcing the reissuance of all 50 existing nationwide permits (NWPs), general conditions, and definitions with some modifications. The Corps also issued two new NWPs, one new general condition, and five new definitions. The 2017 NWPs will be effective on March 19, 2017, and expire on March 18, 2022. The Albuquerque District finalized regional conditions for the 2017 NWPs in Navajo Nation on March 19, 2017. The Navajo Nation regional conditions provide additional protection for important aquatic resources in Navajo Nation and ensure that NWPs authorize only those activities with minimal adverse effects on the aquatic environment.

  • PUBLIC NOTICE FOR NEW NATIONWIDE PERMIT PRE-CONSTRUCTION NOTIFICATION FORM AND INSTRUCTIONS

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), South Pacific Division (SPD), developed a new pre-construction notification form and instructions in accordance with general condition 32 of the 2017 nationwide permits, including certain state regional conditions. Completion of the form is optional when pre-construction notification to the Corps is required. The form is provided as a public service to assist applicants in providing the information required in a pre-construction notification in an efficient and effective manner, however, applicants may provide the required information in any format they choose. Please contact the Corps office with responsibility for the area of your particular project for more information.

The Albuquerque, Sacramento, and Omaha Districts finalized regional conditions for the 2017 NWPs in the state of Colorado on March 19, 2017. The Colorado regional conditions provide additional protection for important aquatic resources in the state and ensure that NWPs authorize only those activities with minimal adverse effects on the aquatic environment.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque District (Corps), the New Mexico Environment Department’s Surface Water Quality Bureau (SWQB), and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) requests comments on Regional General Permit (RGP) NM/West TX-17-01 for Emergency Repair and Protection Activities within the State of New Mexico and area of West Texas in which the Albuquerque District has jurisdiction. The purpose of this public notice is to inform interested parties of the availability of the draft RGP and to solicit comments.
