FUNCTION OF THE ALBUQUERQUE DISTRICT EEO OFFICE:

  • Manages and directs the Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Employment Program for Commander,
    Albuquerque District.
  • Serves as principal advisor to the Commander, CESPA, for EEO to assist in the accomplishment of the USACE
    mission.
  • Manages the EEO complaints processing system to ensure compliance
    with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitors and assesses the climate of the Albuquerque District activities to ensure that human resource
    management of civilians complies with EEO/affirmative employment principles and requirements.

Who May File a Complaint?

  • Any employee, former employee or applicant for employment who feels he/she has been discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age (40 years and over), physical or mental disability, or reprisal may file a discrimination complaint. 
  • Complaints of discrimination should be filed
    • Within 45 calendar days of the date of the alleged discriminatory action or event;
      • or
    • Within 45 calendar days of becoming aware of the alleged action or event. 
  • Sexual harassment complaints against a uniformed service member or Department of Defense civilian may also be addressed under Section 1561, of Title 10, US Code. 
  • Employees claiming discrimination based on sexual orientation may seek redress from the Merit Systems Protection Board, the Office of Special Counsel or the Administrative Grievance Procedure.
